Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him. (Proverbs 22:15)
Proverbs furthermore says: “He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly”. (1) “Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, and deliver his soul from hell”(2) Society has foolishly abandoned God’s love for the inordinate love of man. Chastisement and discipline are acts of godly love not violence. Again Proverbs declare, “For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights”(3) I am amazed that for countless generations godly men and women have trained their children with the rod of correction, and in a few decades society has deemed it obsolete. Just look at the results. It is a matter of love, not violence.
