Only One Way To Goodness

A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of wicked intentions He will condemn.(Proverbs 12:2)
Devotional
Jesus said, “No one is good but One, that is, God.” Therefore, a good man is a man who has been made good by the grace of God. Without Christ, there is no one who does good. The goodness of man without Christ is vain at best. We have all known supposedly good people who were not Christians. Their deeds were noble, honest and of high integrity. Yet, God says that their goodness is like filthy rags. We can only be made good by the finished work of the cross of Calvary. There is no other goodness that can stand before the righteous judgment of God. When you belong to Christ you obtain favor from the Lord. Without Christ we are people of wicked intentions. These God will condemn. No matter how good your intentions, without Christ they are intended for wickedness. You see, God is not only a loving and just God, He is a jealous God. He says in Isaiah, “I will not give My glory to another.”Daily Reading
