Title

The Source of Deception

Scripture
But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
(2 Corinthians 11:3)
Devotional
Satan is the father of deception and the master of lies. His purpose is to complicate the simplicity of the gospel of Christ. If he can convince you that your troubles and problems are greater than such as is common to man, he then can confuse you and cause you to stumble. Satan is very crafty. He will use the wisdom of man, the lust of the flesh, even compassion, to corrupt your thinking. Sin is complex; the gospel of Christ is simple. However, just because the gospel is simple does not diminish its power and authority. The gospel of Christ is the power of God. Therefore, do not be deceived. Do not give way to the enemy. He will do all that he can to convince you that your sin is different and that your sin is not your fault. Do not believe him. Do not be deceived.
