It Is A Matter Of The Will

Scripture
That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.
(Ephesians 4:22)
Devotional
It is up to you. We have a choice to make regarding everything from our direction in life to our ability to live righteously. It is a matter of the will. There are few things stronger than the will of man. Even the unregenerated man is able to will himself into a multitude of directions. There is a will to succeed, a will to be healthy, a will to win, and a will to accomplish great exploits. Man has willed himself to these and many other achievements. How much more should the believer have a will to obey the will of God? Yet I have found the average believer succumbs to his own will to sin. He sins and quickly attempts to blame his will on something or somebody else. We have Christ. We know His will. Therefore, we have no excuse. Therefore, will to do good, succeed, and accomplish great exploits.
