Title

Trusting The Truth

Scripture
Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet… the Lord has not sent you, but you make this people trust a lie.
(Jeremiah 28:15)
Devotional
Political, social and spiritual correctness can be deadly. Saying things just to make people feel good about themselves or to win an advantage will eventually backfire. We do not have to be rude nor unkind, but we are to be truthful and transparent. What we say to win people is what it will take to keep them. If we make promises of grandure, it will take these promises to sustain them. Therefore, be careful when pushing the right button. Do not be an ear tickler. Mean what you say and say what you mean. You need not have a motive behind everything you say. Let the truth take care of itself. It will serve you very well. Avoid being a Hananiah. Avoid causing people to trust a lie. Tell the whole truth, even if it is hard truth. You may win fewer people, but the ones you do win will be sure.
