Title

Life Requires Diligence

Scripture
Be diligent to know the state of your flocks… For riches are not forever…
(Proverbs 27:23-24)
Devotional
Just as it is required for the president of the United States to know the state of the Union, it is required of us to know the state of our environment. We are to diligently study and keep an account of our financial status. We are to diligently know the whereabouts and well-being of our children. We are to diligently know the spiritual and emotional condition of our spouses. If we fail to diligently know these things, we may ultimately lose them. Anything left to itself will eventually deteriorate. No matter how rich a marriage, no matter how sound the finances, or no matter how solid the family, left unattended they will erode. Therefore keep good records. Be financially prudent. Review and repeat your wedding vows. Continue to train and guard your children. “Know the state of your flocks…For riches are not forever.”
