Title

Dealing With The Rebel

Scripture
Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.
(Titus 3:10-11)
Devotional
Warn him once, warn him twice, then flee from him. This is the direction given with regard to a divisive man. The divisive are those who hold to an unorthodox set of values. They thrive on being novel. They make arguments for the sake of arguments. They are warped in their thinking. Their actions condemn them. They are rebels. Unfortunately, divisiveness is fashionable. People are drawn to rebels, the factious, and those who march to a different drum. However, God said, “Reject them.” If they will not be corrected, they are warped and sinning. There are values and laws that are to remain unchangeable. The commandments of God remain commandments. They are not the ten options. Therefore, the only hope for a divisive man is admonition. If that fails, the only hope is rejection. Therefore, love him enough to admonish him; and if need be, love him enough to reject him.
