Title

Seeing Answered Prayer Clearly

Scripture
And he looked up and said, "I see men like trees, walking."
(Mark 8:24)
Devotional
Whether our prayers are answered with a yes, a no or wait, there may be a need for clarity in the answer. When we pray, the answer may not be at all what we expect. More than often answered prayer comes with either unmet expectations or more than we may have bargained. The reason being is that we fail to see the whole picture. What we expect and what we get may be as different as seeing things clearly and seeing things as this once blind man saw them. There have been many instances when I have prayed for God to increase the church I have the privilege of pastoring. When the increases have come, they came in such a way that I did not expect and they came with both blessings and adversities that were as peculiar as seeing men as trees walking. When this happens, and it will inevitably happen; we may need to refocus on the one who answers prayer. "Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly."[4]
