Title

Let Us Learn A Lesson

Scripture
On the next day all the congregation... complained against Moses and Aaron, saying, "You have killed the people of the Lord."
(Numbers 16:41)
Devotional
Moses, the meekest of leaders, was consistently being refuted by the people he led. People have not changed. When we judge the children of Israel as sinful, selfish or anymore different than you and me, we judge them wrongly. Or should I say, we judge ourselves wrongly. Nevertheless, it does not have to continue true to form. We have Moses, the prophets and the people of Israel as examples.[12] Let us receive at least a two fold lesson from our text: First of all, let us not complain against those who lead us, let us pray for them and be submissive. Secondly, for those who are in leadership positions, remember that in this world filled with people you will have tribulation.[13] Moses spent many a lonely night on the mountain of the Lord. He intervened on more than one occasion for the people who regularly rejected him. Nevertheless, the Lord never forsook him, but continually sustained him by His grace.
