Title

Beware The Haters of Instruction

Scripture
To the wicked God says
(Psalm 50:16-17)
Devotional
We cannot pick and choose what to believe and heed with regard to God's Word. The entirety of it is true and to be obeyed. To declare some of the Word of God and ignore the rest is wickedness. The wicked are described here simply as those who are unteachable and ignore the truth. The apostle Paul told pastor Timothy concerning these wicked: they, "cause disputes rather than godly edification... having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm."[33] These do not seek instruction. As the psalmist said, "They hate it." They do not seek godly counsel; they seek only agreement. Again the apostle Paul warns, "According to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers."[34] Beware of such spiritually bigoted teachers who follow the dictates of man's wisdom and hate the true instruction of God's Word.
