Title

Do You See God As You Are

Scripture
With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; with a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; with the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.
(2 Samuel 22:26-27)
Devotional
The New Testament says it this way, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."[34] For the most part, our perception of God is based on our own character. Who we are is more than often how we judge God to be. He is not like us. However He wants us to be like Him. Therefore God deals with us according to how we deal with others. We will inevitably see God as we are. If our perception of God is that of being unfair, it is most likely because we are unfair. If we see Him as harsh, it is because we are harsh. The light by which we see God will be discerned by our own reflection. The Beatitudes clarify our text: "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."[35] How is God showing Himself to you?
