Title

In Trouble

Scripture
Hear me, O Lord, for Your loving kindness is good; turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies. And do not hide Your face from Your servant, for I am in trouble; hear me speedily.
(Psalm 69:16-17)
Devotional
Have you ever been in trouble? Are you in any type of trouble now? There may be only one thing you can do: call on the goodness and mercies of the Lord. Tell Him your circumstances; confess your shortcomings and express your honest desires. If there are things in your situation that you have the ability to make right, make them right. If you have wronged anybody, ask for forgiveness. If you have sinned, confess your sin to God. The troubles of life can appear to be so very overwhelming. David compared them to being up to his neck in deep waters and sinking in deep mire.[4] No matter how great life's troubles, God is greater. No matter how cruel people can be, God's goodness is stronger. And no matter how callous the world, God's mercies are tender. Therefore keep taking your troubles to the Lord. For He says, "Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."[5]
