Title

The Uncertainty of The Obvious

Scripture
Then Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you."
(1 Chronicles 17:2)
Devotional
The apparent obvious is not always so certain. In our day it is called deductive reasoning. There will be many instances throughout our lives that will appear, by man's reasoning, to be clear-cut. Nevertheless, we cannot see as God sees. We are limited by time and space. God is governed by neither. He simply knows. Think about the persecution that came upon the first century church, how could any good come from it? Consider what happened: "Those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word."[41] Therefore when the obvious is not so absolute, do not lose heart. Your heart may be right, as David's heart was, nevertheless God my have a greater plan or the time may not be right. It will take faith and trust to allow the obvious to pass by. There have been many times in my life that I thought, "surely God will bless this endeavor or stop that event," but he did not. Given enough time, I have inevitably seen or will see that God's timing and plan is perfect.
