Title

Who Do You Obey?

Scripture
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
(Romans 6:16)
Devotional
We are clearly called to an obedient faith. To say that we have faith and not be obedient to that faith is at best questionable. We are slaves, but to what are we enslaved? The master of the slave defines the slave. Those who are slaves of sin are in bondage to sin. Those who are slaves of righteousness walk in liberty and freedom. The question we are to ask ourselves is, "Who's my master?" Anything or any one other than Christ is a master leading to death. The duty of a slave is obedience to his or her master. The sin of Adam was disobedience to his Master. The righteousness of Christ was His obedience to His Master. "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous."[7] It is not a difficult thing to know to whom you are enslaved. It is a question of obedience. Who do you obey?
