Title

The Source of Godly Wealth and Riches

Scripture
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments... Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.
(Psalm 112:1&3)
Devotional
Obedient faith in Christ has manifold benefits and promises. I have never met an impoverished obedient believer. They may not have what the world considers wealth and riches, but they have had great wealth and riches in such things as: peace, joy and a myriad of other godly qualities. The psalmist has told us that believer who delights in the Lord, "Whatever he does shall prosper."[42] King David likewise testified, "I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."[43] The apostle James instructs a reason for our failing to obtaining these blessings: "You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures."[44] Let us regularly ask, "Are my endeavors prospering?" If not then let us likewise ask, "do I fear the Lord; do I delight in His commands?"
