Title

The Big Business of The Home

Scripture
If a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?
(1 Timothy 3:5)
Devotional
If we cannot keep our own house in order, how can we keep another's? The greatest responsibility most of us will ever have is the responsibility of our own homes. Managing and leading a home is a huge responsibility. Think of what it cost to maintain the business of a household. Our homes are big business, especially if you live in southern California. The median price home is nearing a half million dollars. Gasoline at this writing is well over $2 a gallon. Cars cost what a home cost just a few decades ago. On top of and greater than the fiscal burdens are the moral concerns. Our children are being pulled by a godless society. They along with ourselves are being bombarded with a slippery slope of perversities. The challenge to church leaders is a challenge to all. We must make our homes a priority of life. Let us pursue financial stability and moral integrity, putting God first in our personal lives, our marriages, and our children and in our homes. Then let us go and do likewise in the marketplace.
