Title

Are You Being Set Apart?

Scripture
He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren.
(Hebrews 2:11)
Devotional
To be sanctified is to be set apart for God's use. There are those who have been sanctified; these we are to follow. We are to follow them in order to be sanctified ourselves. God always uses His delegated authority to lead those whom He has called. As believers we will fall into one of these two categories: the sanctified and those who are being sanctified. If you have already been set apart, it is for the sake of a good work. Are you doing that work? If you have not been set apart for any particular good work, then get behind God's designated authority and you will be guided to God's calling in your life. Our walk with the Lord is a matter of obedience in our calling and a continual seeking of His will. Thus we are perpetually being sanctified. To what have you been called and where are you being led? Sanctification is a one-way street, for we are also furthermore told, "We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."[7]
