Title

The Absence of Trials is a Strange Thing

Scripture
Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you.
(1 Peter 4:12)
Devotional
We are repeatedly warned that in this life we will have to endure trials, tribulations and various forms of sufferings. As undesirable, unpleasant and heart-rending as they are, they are such as is common to man.[40] Fiery trials may be awful, but they are not unusual. If you belong to Christ, you have the grace to endure and overcome all of life's heartbreaks. Our Lord tells us, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."[41] I know and understand that there are times when we do not think that we can endure another trial. We will inevitably reach the end of our proverbial ropes. However if we put whatever measure of faith we have in Christ that we can stand on solid ground. Christ will never leave us hanging. As difficult as your situation may be, it is not a strange thing that is happening to you. Never forget, before a trial gets to you, it first has to pass the throne of God.
