Hospitals Are For Patients

Scripture
Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
(Matthew 9:12)
Devotional
There are two types of people in hospitals, those who are sick or injured, and those who treat the sick and injured. The same is to apply for churches. There should be two types of people in churches, those who are spiritually sick or injured and those who treat them. Just as hospitals are not designed for the comfort and well being of those who serve there, churches should likewise not be designed for the comfort of the spiritually healthy. The problem with many churches is that all the rooms are filled with those who should be serving instead of being served. As hospitals are designed to reach the sick and infermed, churches should likewise be designed to reach the unchurched. As believers, we are to go to church prepared to serve instead of being served. Just as doctors and nurses are to treat patients, Christians are to treat and serve those in need of the Great Physician. Are you well, serve. Are you infirmed, be healed.
