Who Is That Stranger?

Scripture
You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
(Exodus 22:21)
Devotional
A kind word, a smile or a common courtesy can and does affect people for all eternity. We must realize that there are no strangers with God. He knows all of us intimately. Every person matters to God. Every man, woman and child is precious in His sight. Whether we meet a stranger on the street, in a store or on the highway, we are to remember that they are created in the image of God. Furthermore, we have the ability to enhance or degrade another’s day or possibly their life. Therefore, be courteous. Show yourself friendly. The book to the Hebrews informs us, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” What a wonderful way to treat a stranger, as if he or she were an angel. I wonder how many angels we have encountered? I am sure that we have, and I am likewise sure that we will again.
