Title

Humble Earnest Prayer

Scripture
Hear the voice of my supplication when I cry to You, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.
(Psalm 28:2)
Devotional
God hears the humble prayers of those who praise and worship Him. Supplication is just that, to humbly entreat the favor of God. When we go to God with an attitude of worship and humility He hears us. When we are broken because of our sin He is there. When we pray with uplifted hands we are praying with a surrendered heart. There is no malice or bitterness in us. All that we know is the mercy and grace of God. When we are at the bottom of life’s trials, all that is left is to lift up a voice of supplication. Therefore, cry to the Lord and lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the His holy name. God hears the humble prayers of His people. He hears us when we are shattered and wounded. God cares. Our supplication lets us know just how much we care.
Thought For The Night
Lord, I know not what I ought to ask of thee; thou only knowest what I need. ... I open my heart to thee. Behold my needs which I know not myself. Smite, or heal; depress me, or raise me up; I adore all thy purposes without knowing them; I am silent; I yield myself to thee; I would have no other desire than to accomplish thy Will. Teach me to pray. Pray thyself in me. Amen.” Francois Fenelon (1651-1715) was a French theologian, writer, and court preacher for King Louis XIV of France and archbishop of Cambria.

Applying: Begin each day with a time of prayer. Attempt to pray at least seven, consecutive minutes. Consider writing your prayers daily.
