Title

Who Pays Your Wages?

Scripture
The labor of the righteous leads to life, the wages of the wicked to sin.
(Proverbs 10:16)
Devotional
Jesus said it this way, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” When we belong to Christ and we endeavor to do things His way, we are righteous laborers. The fruit of that labor will be an abundant life. On the other hand, when we yield to the thief, we will receive the wages of the wicked. Those wages can never satisfy. They come with a procession of negative benefits. Within the wages of wickedness there is no peace. The devourer swallows your increase. Prosperity in one realm is overshadowed by poverty in another. Life at best is a facade of success. The labor of the righteous however comes with great contentment. It produces a peace the surpasses all our understanding. The devourer will be rebuked by the Lord. Prosperity will be real, and life will be full and abundant.
