Title

Look For Answered Prayer

Scripture
Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications!
(Psalm 28:6)
Devotional
He hears us, He knows our needs, and we are never ignored. Therefore, He is, by all means, worthy of our praise, adoration, thanksgiving, and worship. The silence of God does not mean that He does not hear us, but that we do not hear Him. I am convinced that God answers every prayer. The problem arises when we ignore the answer. Many of our prayers are answered before we pray them.
God’s will is clearly revealed in His Word. When we fail to heed the written Word of God, how can we hear the spoken Word of God? We fail to heed counsel; we disregard preaching; we violate our consciences and then wonder why God doesn’t answer our prayers. When we pray, let us heed the Lord when He said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”(1) Humbly pray, always looking for His answer, realizing that it may have already come and we simply missed it.

Thought For The Night
However much he may want to, I do not believe God will answer the prayer of the student who turned in his test and prayed, ‘O God, please let Paris be the capital of England!’”  Nicky Gumble, “How and Why Should I Pray,” Alpha Evangelism Series (HTB Publications, 1994).

Looking for Answers
·         Does God answer all prayer? Carefully consider Proverbs 1:28-29
·         Could it be that God has already answered your prayers, but you did not like the answer?
·         Is it OK to ask again?

Evening Study Guide
Defining: God is not governed by time or space; therefore He is able to answer prayer even before we ask. When seeking the will and the way of God through prayer, look in all directions. Look to the past, look to His Word, and look to His designated counsel.

Referencing: “Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray…” Matthew 6:8-13.

Applying: Pray, knowing that God hears. Remember He is not a “genie-in-a-lamp;” He is Lord God almighty.
