Leaders Lead Leaders

Scripture
And the Lord said to Moses: “Take Joshua the son of Nun with you, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him.”
(Numbers 27:18)
Devotional
Great leaders raise up great leaders. A leader who has no successor has failed in leading. When Moses knew that his days on the earth were numbered, he said to the Lord, “Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation… who may lead them…” Moses had mentored Joshua and Caleb to lead the people. He taught them by assigning them increasing duties. They succeeded where Moses failed. Moses failed to inter into the promised land because of disobedience. He was however successful in raising them up to lead a new generation. Of the previous generation, only these two were able to inter the land. Therefore a leader must not only lead, he must raise up leaders. You are only successful as a leader if you lead yourself out of a job. Great leaders make themselves dispensable. If you are a leader, you by all means must lead a leader.
