Title

Remember Joseph And Mary

Scripture
And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him an a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
(Luke 2:7)
Devotional
We would expect the arrival of the King of kings and Lord of lords to be grandiose. Joseph and Mary were visited by an angel. They were told that the savior of the world was going to be born to them. Their names were going to be highly esteemed for all of eternity. Wouldn’t you think that there would be a few perks to go along with such an event? Here they were the parents of Israel’s and the world’s Messiah all alone in a barn delivering a baby. The only local recognition received was from a few shepherds. Think of the loneliness, the doubts and the wonder of it all; and it never got much better. They had to hide in heathen Egypt for a few years, and then move back to Nazareth with all of its ridicule and caustic remarks. Their lives were never the same again. Nevertheless God had His perfect plan. Therefore, the next time your prayers are not answered just as you think they should be, remember Joseph and Mary.
