“You Are The Man”

Scripture
Then Nathan said to David, “You are the Man!”
(2 Samuel 12:7)
Devotional
We will always judge others by our own actions or potential deeds. Here David wanted to have a rich man executed for stealing a poor man’s lamb when he himself murdered godly Uriah. David’s own judgment condemned him. Nevertheless, God showed him mercy by not taking his life. Therefore, be careful in your accusations against another when there is guilt in your own life. Listen to what the book of Romans has to say, “You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? You who say, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ do you commit adultery?” Do not condone yourself by your judgment of others. See if there is any wicked way in you. When you perceive sin in another, ask God to reveal if there is any sin in yourself. If we fail to do so, there may be a day when we are arrogantly standing and waiting for another to be condemned, and the judge will say, “You are the man.”
