Title

Listen With A Tender Heart

Scripture
“Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the Lord… I also have heard you,” says the Lord.
(1 Kings 22:19)
Devotional
Josiah was just eight years old when he became king; and when he heard the reading of the law of Moses, he immediately obeyed. He obeyed because he believed the Word of the Lord. When he heard the reading of God’s Word, he wept and changed his heart. When his heart changed the nation changed. How is your heart toward the Word of the Lord? Does it humble you or cause pride? If, by the Holy Spirit, you hear with an ear toward obedience you will be humbled. On the other hand, if you are puffed up with Bible knowledge, you will become judgmental and prideful. When we hear the Word of the Lord, we are to seek His guidance and repentance. Do not just listen for information. Listen obediently. Read and listen with a tender heart. Never attempt to justify your hard heartedness. Do this and the Lord will hear you and bless your endeavors.
