Title

How To Flourish

Scripture
He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage.
(Proverbs 11:28)
Devotional
It is a matter of priorities and motives. If riches are our motive and money our priority, both will fail to satisfy and bring contentment. However, if they are a means to an end and their purpose is to accomplish great and mighty exploits, you will by all means flourish. Wealth for the sake of wealth or riches for the sake of riches will not merit peace and true prosperity. Self-centered lives inevitably are miserable lives. Greed cannot be satisfied. Lust never says enough and selfishness can only hoard.
Righteousness has a divine purpose behind its actions. Riches are merely by-products of it. The righteous seek to grow and share their growth. They cannot help but bring others along with them. They are team players and credit givers. The only thing they are quick to take is the responsibility. They are accountable. They flourish because they simply endeavor to do it right.

Questions To Ponder
Morning Study Guide
Defining:  “Flourish like foliage” Psalm 1 defines it so very well, “Like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”

Referencing: “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God,” Psalm 92:12-13.

Applying: Seek doing things right: Instead of the prize, focus on the race; instead of the fruit, focus on the plant; instead of the results, focus on the relationships.
