It’s a Dog!

Scripture
Do not give what is holy to the dogs nor cast your pearls before swine.
(Matthew 7:6)
Devotional
There is little we possess of more value than our love. There is little more than an inordinate affection or love. It is, or it at least should be obnoxious when people love dogs more than those created in the image of God. Dogs and swine are examples of uncleanness and ungodliness in scripture. Yet, in our day, God’s people show more love and concern for that which represents filth and unrighteousness rather than godliness and righteousness. I am not opposed to having pets, but we must remember that they are simply pets. If you have more love for a dog than you do for any man, woman or child, you have an inordinate, perverted love. We possess nothing of greater value than that which is to be given to God with all our hearts, minds and souls. Therefore, our love is not to be given to dogs and swine.
