Title

Put Your Confidence in Christ

Scripture
For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.
(Proverbs 3:26)
Devotional
We are instructed not to put our confidence in man. Psalm 118 says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”  Micah further warns, “Do not trust in a friend; do not put your confidence in a companion…” This does not mean that we are not to have nor be a trusted friend; on the contrary, this means that we are to seek such a friend and be such a friend. The greatest trustworthy friend we can have is naturally Christ Jesus. It is impossible to go through this life without being betrayed by those we call friends. Nevertheless, we are not to fear making friends, for as our text says, “The Lord… will keep your foot from being caught.” More important than having friends is being a true friend. We are to be without exception trustworthy at all times. It is not to matter if we are betrayed or forsaken; we are to put our confidence in the Lord.
