Title

A Garden, Planted by the Lord

Scripture
He who received the seed on good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who bears fruit and produces…
(Matthew 13:23)
Devotional
The word of God is to be understood with regard to the needs of our lives. It is only to be a mystery to those who reject its authority. As believers, we have the Holy Spirit present with us. He is the great revealer of the Word of God. Therefore, we are to hear the word with understanding. Furthermore, we are to bear fruit from it and produce the results God intended. We are to be good soil. We all are in need of some cultivation. Some of us need to be weeded while others need to be plowed. Some need regular watering and others a little tilling. To become good soil, we must recognize our imperfections and do the necessary gardening. We need to get rid of the weeds of lust, remove the rocks of judging and plow under the sins that so easily beset us. We must become good soil, a fruitful garden, ready for the Master’s use.
