One Law, One Attitude

Scripture
One law shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you.
(Exodus 12:49)
Devotional
There is no partiality with God. He is not impressed with anybody other than His Son. Therefore, there is no difference with regard to the laws of God for any believer. The same standard shall judge us all—Christ. Therefore, be very careful with regard to being a respecter of persons. Be slow to judge another by their dress, looks or mannerisms. Never look down on anyone created in God’s image. We are to either look eye to eye or we are to look up to others. To look up to another is to have the attitude of a servant.  Servants have one law—to serve. Consider what James says, “Do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ… with partiality. For if there should come into your assembly a man with… fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man… and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there… have you not shown partiality… and become judges with evil thoughts?”
