Title

Lest You Be Like Judas

Scripture
When Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper…
(Matthew 26:6)
Devotional
Much of what Jesus did was offensive to the religious of His day. Here we find Jesus in the house of one who was to be avoided and considered unclean because he was a leper. While in this home a questionable woman came and poured an extremely expensive bottle of perfumed oil on Him. I’m sure this not only infuriated the Pharisees, but His disciples as well. As a matter of fact this act triggered the betrayal of Judas. ?Do you see the danger and fruit of judging? When we judge another, we can be guaranteed that there is at the very least one thing we do not know. The religious leaders did not know that Christ did not come to condemn the lepers, but to heal them. The disciples did not know that this seemingly wasteful expression was the Father’s way of showing Christ anointing and preparation for His death. Never forget the awful consequences of wrongful judgment, lest you also be like Judas.
