Title

Don’t Just Tell Them

Scripture
Go therefore and make disciples… teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.
(Matthew 28:19-20)
Devotional
At best, people will tell others what they believe. Nevertheless, they are seldom willing to disciple them. With Christians, it is sharing the gospel. It is one thing to tell somebody about the love of God; it is quite another to make disciples of them. Simply introducing someone to Christ does not make them a disciple, just as introducing someone to a general doesn't make them a soldier. Sharing the Four Spiritual Laws or the Roman’s Road is a great step, but it is only the first step. The text says that we are to make disciples, that is, get them baptized and teach them. We are not only to teach them what to do, we are to teach them how to do it. This is truly making disciples. By all means, share the Good News of the gospel and introduce people to Christ. However do not stop there, continue the command and make disciples.
