Title

The Straight Way to Prosperity

Scripture
Be strong and very courageous… to do all… which my servant Moses commanded you, do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
(Joshua 1:7)
Devotional
Joshua never turned to the right or left from the directions of Moses and therefore, he prospered as the Lord had said. He did not decide that Moses’ ways were out of date and needed revised. Joshua knew that the directions of Moses were tried and true. He understood that his job was not to reinvent the proven things of God. You and I must learn to do the same. That is, we are to learn to follow directions and not become a law and way unto ourselves. We are to expand our comfort zones, but we are to do so with and by God’s proven direction. If you want to be a risk taker, that is fine and good. Nevertheless, do not take a risk with God’s commands and directions. Always do what you know is right to do. Never turn left down the street of compromise nor right down the street of self-righteousness. Hold the godly course and prosper in your way.
