He read all the words of the law… before all the assembly… with the women, the little ones, and the strangers who were living among them.

Devotional
We, like the children of Israel are to be people of the Word. Our belief, religion, ethics, knowledge, wisdom and understanding is to come from the Word of God. It is to be the foundation of all that we value and trust. Our laws are to be founded upon it. Our families are to be established by it, and our churches are to declare it. We must read it for ourselves and to our children. Every man and every woman is to hear the Word of the Lord with an ear toward obedience. We are to share it with those who are strangers among us. The Word of the Lord is not to be hoarded, it is to be freely shared and proclaimed to the ends of the earth. It is our source and our guide. It is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We should no more go through a day without the Word of God anymore than we would go through a day without air. It is the manna of God for His children today. Therefore, let us proclaim it to the world.
