Title

To Whom Do You Cling?

Scripture
Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.
(Ruth 1:14)
Devotional
Both Orpah and Ruth loved Naomi. They both wept for her. Orpah loved her with a kiss. A kiss is to be a wonderful expression of love. Unfortunately mankind has devolved it into an expression of lust. Nevertheless, four times in the New Testament the church was instructed to great each other with a holy kiss. Orpah obviously loved Naomi. Ruth, on the other hand, clung to her. We can easily walk away from a kiss. Ruth held Naomi. She was not going to let her go. She was not going to walk away nor was she going to let Naomi walk away. What or whom do you love with a kiss, and to what do you cling? Ruth said, “Wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.” Do you kiss the Son? Do you cling to Him?
