Title

He Will Speak If We Listen

Scripture
The word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.
(1 Samuel 3:1)
Devotional
There is only one reason that I can think of that would cause the Word of the Lord to be rare: the lack of people having ears to hear. The Psalms declare, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” All we have to do is to be willing to look and listen. The Word of the Lord will speak when there are ears to listen. I am convinced that if we are willing to listen, God will send a wise man to speak to us. The Word of the Lord does not have to be rare. As a preacher of the Gospel, I have found that a hungry congregation pulls the Word of the Lord out of me. There are some wonderful churches in our land. They are located in just about every city. We must seek them out that the Word of the Lord will not be rare in our lives. God is revealing Himself to His people. He is simply looking for those who have an ear to hear.
