Title

Diplomacy is better than Contention

Scripture
So Hushai said to Absalom, “The advise that Ahithophel has given is not good at this time.
(2 Samuel 17:7)
Devotional
There is much fruit to bear with diplomacy. Instead of attacking the advice of Ahithophel, Hushai simply stated that Ahithophel’s plans might be better for another time. He then presented his case strongly, clearly and effectively. Absalom heeded his counsel and therefore was defeated by David. This was Hushai’s plan from the beginning. It is far better to present your case than to attack the plans of another. Granted, it is far easier to deride and belittle someone else’s plan than to take a stand and articulate your own. Nevertheless, when you attack, you will inevitable experience resistance.
