Title

Give and Receive the Best

Scripture
Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
(Acts 3:6.)
Devotional
The beggar was asking for one thing and got quite another. He was asking for a handout and got a helping hand. The lesson is several fold. God may not always give us what we ask, but He will give us what we need; and what we need is usually far greater than what we desire. Likewise, we may not be able to give what we wish, but God has supplies us to give what is needed. When people need a helping hand, money may be the easiest method of relief, but not necessarily the best that van be given. I have found that people who need bailed out of financial troubles, when given money, will need to be bailed out again. However, when given wise counsel and financial guidance, they will seldom need monetary aid again. You may not have silver and gold to give, but you do have riches that can change a life. Likewise, you may desire silver and gold, but walking is what you truly need.
