Title

Suffered Any Shame Lately?

Scripture
So they departed… rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
(Acts 5:41)
Devotional
For the most part, we will do anything to avoid suffering of any kind. Suffering for Christ is foreign to Christianity in America. The reason being is that we have fallen into the trap of a neo-tolerance. So that we would not offend anyone we have become generic believers. We are careful not to invoke the name of Jesus so that those who do not believe in Him will not be offended. We would rather them go to hell felling good about themselves than to challenge them with the truth of Christ. We do not have to be neither obnoxious nor purposefully offensive, but we are to be truthful to our beliefs. Aren’t you tired of having to adapt to everyone else’s culture and sensitivities? Is it not time to be sensitive to Christ and the culture of His kingdom? Is it not time that we would rejoice to be counted worthy to suffer shame for Christ?
