Be What You Proclaim

Scripture
“Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man?”
(Proverbs 20:6:)
Devotional
Self-perception can be deceitful. What we think of ourselves and how we portray ourselves may not be who we truly are. The character and integrity of a man or woman is measured by one’s faithfulness. Whether it is a wedding vow or a handshake, what we say and what we do must be in line if we are to call ourselves faithful. ?If we claim to be honest, there is no room for lying. If we claim to be faithful in marriage there is no room for flirtation. A good man says, “Yes” and means, “Yes.” A good man arrives on time because he said that he would be on time. A good man’s word is his bond. This is the character and integrity of the faithful. ?It is easy to proclaim what you are going to do; it is quite another thing to actually do it.
