Title

A Mind As Well As A Heart

Scripture
“…Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well in that it was in your heart. Nevertheless you shall not build the temple…”
(2 Chronicles 6:8-9:)
Devotional
If it is in your heart to do something that is seemingly out of your league, God sees it and is pleased. Nevertheless, just because it is in your heart, does not necessarily mean that God would have you to do it. ?I have known many good people who have had a desire to give, but did not have the resources or ability to do so. God sees their desire to give as the act of giving. It is wonderful to have a heart for accomplishing something greater than yourself; however, it takes the mind of Christ to do so. ?David had the resources and ability to build the temple, but God directed him not to. Instead, God passed the desires of David’s heart to his son Solomon, who not only had a heart to do it but the mind of Christ as well. ?Therefore, express the desires of your heart to the Lord, but remember to ask God to give you the mind of Christ as well. Samuel said it best, “The Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
