Think About His Thoughts

Scripture
Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order . . . they are more than can be numbered.
(Psalm 40:5)
Devotional
Whenever we begin to feel sorry for ourselves, and think that no one cares, we need to consider Psalm 40, verse 5. We can often count on one hand the thoughts we have about the things of God, but God’s thoughts toward us are innumerable. One of my favorite sayings is, “When Christ was on the cross, you were on His mind.”
The very Creator of the universe has thought about you and me from the foundation of eternity. His thoughts toward us are without beginning and will never end. You and I matter very much to the one and only true God. As the old song says, “No one ever cared for me like Jesus.” Where is there room for self-pity? How can we be depressed when we are so wonderfully loved and thought of? Whenever we feel alone, all we have to do is think about His love and caring thoughts toward us.

Evening Study Guide
Defining:  God is able to think of us without difficulty because He dwells in eternity. He is not governed by time, distance or space. He simply is.

Referencing: “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:17.

Applying: The Creator of the universe is very cognitive of you and all that you do. He is vitally concerned about you. By God’s grace, live your life in such a way as not to disappoint Him.
