Title

Good Stewardship Is Good Business

Scripture
On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper…
(1 Corinthians 16:2)
Devotional
The apostle Paul is exhorting the Corinthian believers to give their offerings on a regular basis. Likewise I do not believe that it is a stretch of the scriptures to say that he is also encouraging them to save, “Storing up as he may prosper.” Your church is the place where God’s business takes place. It reflects the testimony of the believers. Every church has financial obligations to meet. These obligations are due on a regular basis. They cannot be paid when ever convenient; they are to be paid when due. It is for this reason that we are to give of our tithes and offerings on a regularly. As we receive an increase, we are to give from that increase. If we receive a weekly stipend, we should give weekly, if monthly, then monthly, and so forth. This is good stewardship in its simplest form. Remember, “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”
