Title

When Plans Go Awry

Scripture
“Woe to the rebellious children.” Says the Lord, who take counsel, but not of Me and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit.
(Isaiah 30:1)
Devotional
God is simply saying that if we seek counsel and prepare plans apart from Him we are rebels. May I add we would not only be rebellious, we would be foolish as well? I am furthermore convinced that we neglect to seek God’s counsel because we are afraid that He would not agree with our plans. Do you hear the foolishness? Why would we desire anything that would be contrary to God’s counsel? How foolish we would be not to grasp the plans of the Spirit instead of the plans of a fool. Likewise, our test strongly indicates that our plans will not only go awry, we will be chastised as well. Why would we seek counsel from anyone before we would seek counsel from the living God? Why would we desire to devise planes without His guidance and blessing? Why would we want to be doomed for failure? Let us therefore always seek His counsel and always follow His plans. If we do, we will always succeed.
