Title

Knowing When To Share The Load

Scripture
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ… For each one shall bear his own load.
(Galatians 6:2 & 5)
Devotional
There are burdens that we are unable to bear alone; and there are burdens that we are to bear alone. Knowing the difference can change your life. For example, there are burdens I carry that I do not share with my wife because there is nothing she can do about them, except carry them. These are the loads I must bear alone. If I share the burdens I am to carry with another there is no distribution of weight, only the doubling of the burden. When I find myself under a load that I am unable to bear, I have to find the right person to help me. Not everyone is designed to carry any load. I must find someone who is equipped and willing to help me with my burden. If we go to the wrong person, all we do is multiply the load. The right person is the one who will tell you the truth. Therefore we must seek wise counsel for our burdens, not agreement.
