Title

Evil Ways And Evil Doings

Scripture
Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given you.
(Jeremiah 25:5)
Devotional
There is a difference between an evil way and evil doings. An evil way is that which is openly, maliciously and purposefully done. Evil doings on the other hand can appear to be honest and upright, but the motives of the heart are wrong. Therefore, whether openly or covertly, we are to rid ourselves of those things which are deemed evil. The reasons are many: they violate the laws of God and God Himself, they will sooner or later hurt you. Furthermore, like all sin, they will take you further than you wish to go, cost you more than you are willing to pay, keep you longer than you want to stay and negatively impact others for more than you would have ever imagined. If you find an evil way or doings in your life, do as the prophet instructs and repent. We cannot turn from the evil way or evil doings without turning to the right way and prosperous doings.
