Devotional
The title “Son of man” is used one hundred and ninety six times in the scriptures. It is used in reference to both mankind and the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are all descendents of Adam. The name Adam literally means man. Christ came to this earth as not only the Son of God, but also the Son of man. Christ, therefore, can relate fully with all our infirmities and temptations. He completely understands our weaknesses and our strengths. He knows His creation. Likewise, as Christ is called the Son of Man and the Son of God, He is also called the Word of God. Therefore, Ezekiel says, “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears.” The Creator of the universe has not made us heirs of Adam, but now heirs of Himself and joint heirs of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. He has also given us His Word, the Holy Scriptures, the book we call the Bible.
