Title

We are Sheep, He is the Shepherd

Scripture
You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God.
(Ezekiel 34:31)
Devotional
God knows who He is. However, sometimes I think that we forget who we are. We are His creation. He not only created us, but He, likewise, knows what is best for us. Like a good shepherd knows what is good for his flock, our heavenly Father knows what is best for us. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” How can we know if we are His sheep? The answer is quite simple; we are His sheep if we follow Him. Obedient sheep follow the shepherd. Sometimes, however, we live as if we were gods and respond to God as if He were a man. God says, “You are men, and I am God.” We are not to shepherd God, He shepherds us. Yet we so often live our lives as if God follows us, responding to our every beck and call. He is not a genie in a lamp. He is God in heaven. We are to respond to His every beck and call. We are men, He is God.
